Premiere of Strut! for Wind Ensemble
The Austin Peay State University wind ensemble will premiere Strut! under the direction of Gregory Wolynec. After performing the orchestral version of Strut! with the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Greg Wolynec commissioned an arrangement specifically written for the APSU ensemble. This performance is the culmination of a six month workshop between the composer and APSU winds.
Premiere of FOCO with New Dialect
New Dialect is proud to present three Nashville premieres by ground breaking choreographers, Yin Yue (China), Idan Sharabi (Israel), and Nashville's own Banning Bouldin, in the company's newest contemporary dance triptych, FOCO.
Cristina Spinei and Sound Riot provide the music for Banning Bouldin's new work. Scored for clarinet, cello, piano, percussion, and electric bass, the accompanying piece Lilt makes use of crunchy textures and playful rhythms.
21st C - Belmont Camerata
Cristina Spinei's string quartet From will be part of the Belmont Camerata's concert of contemporary chamber music. Included on her debut album, Music For Dance, From is a piece that explores individual relationships in the context of a quartet. This concert is part of the Belmont Camerata's annual chamber music festival.
Antiphon for the Angels Performed by Colleen Phelps
Scored for voice and marimba, Antiphon for the Angels was commissioned by percussionist and vocal artist Colleen Phelps. This work will appear on her solo recital "All Natural" in a program of music inspired by and performed with nature.
Strut! Premiered by APSU Wind Ensemble
The Austin Peay State University Wind Ensemble will premiere the band version of Strut!.

Chamber Music | OC in association with Soka Performing Arts Center presents Trio Céleste in their highly-anticipated debut album release event featuring works of Beethoven, Dvorak, and a revolutionary collaborative project that bridges the gap between new and old: The Beethoven Variation Project.
Hailed as “a first-class ensemble” (Orange County Register) “exuberant and technically dazzling” (Long Beach Gazette) and “one of the best young chamber groups around today” (Philip Setzer, Emerson String Quartet), Trio Céleste has quickly established itself as one of the most dynamic chamber music ensembles in the country. Recent season highlights include national and international recital tours throughout Albuquerque, Los Angeles, New York, Ottawa, San Francisco, Sarasota, and Toronto, and the release of their debut album recorded by Grammy-winning sound engineer Jesse Lewis at Soka Performing Arts Center.
Join the Trio as they celebrate the successful launch of their album in the beautiful space where it was recorded. The program will include Beethoven’s Piano Trio in G Major, Op. 1, No. 2, Dvorak’s “Dumky” Trio, and the Southern California premiere of The Beethoven Variation Project – a collaborative project featuring commissions from some of today’s most important composers including Samuel Adler, Pierre Jalbert, Cristina Spinei, and jazz musicians Peter Erskine and Fred Hersch.

Cristina Spinei + Sound Riot at OZ
New Nashville based experimental group Sound Riot performs in the OZ Artists Lounge series. Using Blind Ear technology, they will perform off of laptops while receiving their music in real-time via wifi. Also on the program is Frederic Rzewski's Les Moutons de Panurge. Sound Riot will be joined by cellist Sari De Leon-Reist.
Mariachi
Join Intersection for a family program guaranteed to broaden horizons and ignite the imaginations of all ages. Mariachi, is an afternoon of activities and music featuring thirteen Intersection musicians, Gabriela Fuentes and Mariachi students from Metro Schools and Manuel Delgado of Delgado Guitars. Explore the vibrancy of Mariachi folk traditions and the contemporary classical voices of Mexican composers Silvestre Revueltas and Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez as we experience the ways both cross and influence one another.
Revueltas and Sanchez-Gutierrez represent different generations of Mexican composers both influenced by the voices that came before them. This show also features the world premiere of a brand new work by Intersection’s composer ambassador Cristina Spinei created specifically for the collaboration of these artists.
It is a perfect concert for adults and children alike, so join us for a celebration of Mexican music and culture.

Trio Céleste Beethoven Variation Project Recording
As part of the ensemble’s deep commitment to performing the music of living composers, Trio Céleste is thrilled to announce a revolutionary collaborative project that bridges the gap between new and old: The Beethoven Variation Project.
Trio Céleste has invited ten renowned composers to each create a variation based on the opening theme of the Largomovement of Beethoven’s virtuosic Piano Trio in G Major, Op. 1, No. 2, a work that the ensemble will also be including on their debut album along with Dvorak’s “Dumky” Trio.
This exciting collaborative project will feature commissions from some of today’s most important composers including Samuel Adler, Pierre Jalbert, and Augusta Read Thomas, and will be premiered and recorded in July 2015 at Soka Performing Arts Center.

Racine Symphony Orchestra - NEW VOICES
Get swept away to the old South in Barber’s lyric rhapsody, Knoxville Summer of 1915, with special guest artist, coloratura soprano Alicia Berneche. Nathan Wesselowski, tenor, and The Choral Arts Society will join Berneche in performing Handel’s Ode to St. Cecilia, whose title is a nod to the patron saint of musicians. Explore the musical voice of Julliard-trained composer Cristina Spinei in her 2010 composition for strings, Synched.
